Step-by-step Guide to Porsche PADM Fault Repair porsche911

Introduction
There are currently two types of engine mounts, Model A and Model B, which apply to different vehicle models. Their removal procedures differ, so please make sure to verify the correct mount model for the vehicle before operation.
This manual provides instructions for installing the upgraded PADMsensor on select Porsche models. Follow these steps carefully to ensureproper fitment and function.

Tools & Preparation
- Car jack or lift
- Socket wrench
- Grinder (if needed)
- Soldering iron
- Silicone grease & sealant
- Safety gloves & goggles
Removing the Old PADM Sensor
- Remove the protective engine cover located underneath the vehicle.
- You can access the two PADM units directly—no other components need to be removed.
- Support the gearbox with a jack.Required tools
- First, remove the bolts connecting the mounts to the chassis (blue arrows).
- Then remove the bolts securing the PADM brackets (red arrows).
- Disconnect electrical connector from the old PADM sensor.
Sensor Modification
The factory sensor bolts have an uncommon head and are too short forthe new sensor. Always use the bolts supplied with the upgraded PADMsensor. Ensure the PADM module remains properly oriented, with thesensor facing upward, to prevent leakage of magnetic fluid.
In some cases, the right-side bracket may block insertion of the newsensor. Carefully grind the bracket as needed—do not separate thesensor from its bracket. Apply a protective coat of paint to the bracketafter grinding to prevent corrosion.
Next, desolder the three contact points on the old sensor, remove theelectronics, and cut the three legs as shown in the included schematic.
Installing the New Sensor
The following steps are illustrated in greater detail in the referenceimages below, covering both PADM sensor models.
- Apply silicone grease and a sealing layer on the new sensor.
- Insert and bolt the sensor using the supplied screws.
- Reconnect the electrical plug.
- Reinstall the protective engine cover.
- Start the vehicle and confirm that dashboard error codes are cleared.

- Locate the four triangular screws. These are anti-tamper screws. Use a 2.5 mm flathead screwdriver to remove them. The product includes four replacement hex screws and a matching wrench for reinstallation.

- Grind down the three pins securing the circuit board, then removethe circuit board.

- Smooth the pins and the three raised points until they are level.

- Once leveled, carefully pull out the sensor probe.

- Apply sealant around the probe, or alternatively to the bottom ofthe sensor.

-
Install the sensor and reconnect the plug.
